And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD." Joshua 24:15

Easter

A cursory reading of the scripture will leave most churchgoers a bit more than slightly confused. We are plainly told that after Jesus died he spent three days and three nights in the heart of the earth and rose again at the conclusion of those days. Simple math proves Church doctrine wrong here, there aren’t three days and nights between "Good Friday" and "Easter Sunday" there’s only a day and a half at best. So what do the facts tell us?

The facts are that Christ died on Wednesday just before sundown on the Jewish Passover and He was in the tomb before sunset as tradition called for, this was the Passover fulfillment. Its important that He died on a Wednesday because that gives him three days and nights in the tomb before rising again on the first day of the week.

So, Jesus was in the tomb starting sundown Wednesday (as the Jews start their day at sunset not at midnight) and counting: Thursday night, Friday night and Sabbath night, completing the three days and nights. This was the fulfillment of the Jewish feast known as the Feast of Unleavened Bread, which directly follows the Passover.

Now, we understand from scripture that by dawn Jesus was already up and out of the tomb. He arose sometime during the night after the Sabbath on the first day of the week. This was the fulfillment of the Jewish feast called the Feast of First Fruits. This feast falls on the first day of the new week after the Passover.

In recent years, a movement known as Hebrew Roots have become amazed by these facts and further taken it to mean that we must keep these feasts as a part of God’s plan of salvation but that is not the case. While Christ did fulfill these feasts (and on their very days) they have no actual bearing on our salvation, which is freely given to us.

Further the name "Easter" is the English transliteration for "Ishtar", an ancient goddess of fertility. This explains what the eggs and rabbits have in common, they are BOTH very fertile. The Church seemingly hides "easter eggs" in their heads when confronted with these facts and they keep them well hidden so that no one will ever find them.

Knowledgeable pagans laugh at the ignorance of the Church. These pagans know the facts. They know about the shortage of days, they know what the eggs and rabbits signify, they know why it is celebrated in springtime after the vernal equinox and they know that most Christians are ignorant about it and they think it’s funny. Christians today look like the ignorant morons that most of them are, they are not just wrong, they’re embarrassingly wrong.

So Christ died on the Jewish Passover, He was in the tomb during the Feast of Unleavened Bread and rose again on the Feast of First Fruits. His resurrection has nothing to do with "Easter" but Christians throughout the world have bought it hook, line and sinker and they will hear nothing against it.

Most will vehemently challenge anyone who tells them the truth concerning Easter.
