"Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; And patience, experience; and experience, hope: And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us." Romans 5:1-5
It might seem strange to glory in tribulations but as we study God’s word we find it is not very much like we might have imagined or like what we think is right.
Studying the word of God is the most important thing you can do in this life short of receiving salvation (of course the two are eternally linked) but when we discover in Acts that the disciples rejoice that they were found worthy to suffer beatings for Christ’s sake it catches us off guard. They rejoiced for beatings, can we not glory in our own daily tribulations?
That’s the word. Let’s take time to read it and embrace it for what it says not what we want it to say. The knowledge of God is given to us through the Bible. It’s his book. He’s the boss, lets find out what he wants… and do it. As Christians we should remember to glory in our tribulations, knowing that it worketh patience, experience and hope.
