And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD." Joshua 24:15

MAYAN APOCALYPSE COUNTDOWN BEGINS

12/21/11 BEGINS THE FINAL YEAR OF THE LONG FORECASTED END OF THE MAYAN CALENDAR, WHICH MANY SAY BRINGS WITH IT THE END OF THE WORLD

For more than a decade now we have been treated to both theory and fact concerning the end time prophecy dealing with the supposed ending of the Mayan calendar. Soon all the hype will come to an abrupt end and the long awaited Mayan calendar mystery will be realized. In the meantime, the Mayan region is gearing up to take full advantage of this event.

An expected increase in tourism will bring curious people from all over the world to visit their ancient land. Mayan regional tourism, which usually sees around 22 million visitors, expects to see upwards of 52 million visitors this year, most of who are wondering if the world could possibly end in 2012.

Many celebrations and events are being planned much as we saw during the year 1999 and you can be sure local Mayan priests will be in high demand to perform religious ceremonies, burn incense and offer prayers to their gods. However, Yeanet Zaldo, a tourism spokeswoman for the Caribbean state of Quintana Roo, home to Cancun tells us “The world will not end. It is an era,” “For us, it is a message of hope.”

In case you are wondering, she is right, there is absolutely no chance that the world will end on December 21, 2012. The Bible is very clear that we will experience 3 ½ years of tribulation such as has never been seen upon the earth, culminating with the ascension of the two witnesses into heaven just before Jesus returns.

While we have had numerous tribulational events recently, they have not all been grouped into the tight 3 ½ year time frame that we are told they will happen in. The Bible also teaches us that the end will come in a fashion similar to that of a woman during pregnancy, as the day of delivery approaches her pain will increase more and more until the birth takes place.

We are told in 1st Thessalonians 5: 3 “For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.” Just as the woman is not able to escape her birth neither will those of us in the world be able to escape ours.

So, while we can clearly show that this day isn’t the end it may very well become the beginning of the end. Since there is a good chance the elite of the world would attempt to use this particular date to make a push that would indeed hurl the world into the tribulation, we have but one year more to wait.
